LASSIE LOOK UP

Lassie look up; too much of looking down
Will lead to looking inward in the end
And that will do no good.
Believe in every star;
Sooner or later one will wink at you:
Bluebells will chime out of the silent wood.

Lassie be brave; tomorrow always comes
Bringing a little less than you had hoped:
Sometimes it comes with pain.
O you will never be
Free from the future and the past, a ghost,
Is never laid for long, will walk again.

Lassie be blithe; the world will clutch too soon
And tear the fabric of your youth to shreds
And then will be the day
To sit apart and mourn;
But while you have a song within your heart
Then sing it and preserve the melody.
