Hanging Loose #84
There are over 130 pages in this perfect bound, and professionally produced journal. It contains a mixture of poems and short stories. There is a short biographical section at the back.

One section features work from high-school pupils, and Hallie Cooper-Novack begins her poem called THE ART OF FIXING A SHADOW with:

It begins with me in the bathtub
	I am soaking
	I'm developing
	I'm being fixed
And when I get out I dry smooth,
Like a piece of wet fiber paper.
Hallie Coopper-Novack is a recent graduate of Saint Ann's School in Brooklyn and is currently attending Wesleyan University. In this poem, Hallie Cooper-Novac gives an exploration of emotions. Her writing has a surrealistic feel.

William Herman gives us a story called I'M NOT GLORIA. I love this title. It is a well-written piece. William Herman focuses on seedy life and relationships:

It isn't easy to hit bottom. You have to float down through pressure depths fighting a sargasso of possible victories. You have to be heavy with respect to gravity — be grave, that is. Nevertheless, gravity is not a law, only a hint that may be safely ignored if you're firmly bent on paralysis.
In general, the journal has an intimate feel, with a focus on the little aspects that make up life. It is about lives and living. A journal that leaves you feeling you are not alone.
