HAIKUTALK

A new domain name has now been established at http://www.geraldengland.org.uk/. Much of the work presently found here has been transferred to the new site. The following sections will NOT be transferred:

|| Aabye's Baby || Arrabella the Arachnid || Harold Fred Shipman || Purple Patch Convention || Tameside on the Internet || Yorkshire Dialect || Zimmer-zine ||

It is expected that this site will close down around the end of 2005.

This page has now moved to http://www.geraldengland.org.uk/hk/hktalk.htm

A forum for news and views on haiku and related genres.

  • Haikutalk is a general discussion list for writers and others interested in haiku and related genres such as tanka, senryu, renga, sijo, haibun, sedoka &c.

  • It is not primarily just a place to post new writing
  • rather
    • a place to discuss the nature of haiku
    • to find out about those who do haiku
    • to learn about publishers and competitions.
  • The list was created on June 13th 1998.
  • It is an unmoderated list but flaming will not be tolerated.
  • In July 2004 a new list, haikutalk2, was created at yahoogroups.com
  • Information on how the two mailing lists operate can be found at Haikutalk & Haikutalk2
  • Around three-fifths of the members of each list are members of both lists.
  • Whilst some things are discussed directly on both lists, posts are not automatically passed between them.
  • There are technical reasons why some people cannot be members of both lists. Some people prefer to be members of only one list.
  • haikutalk2 is now the more active list.

"This is probably the best haiku list on the Net, with a nice blend of teachers, poets, artists, translators, publishers and editors and everyone seems to be pretty level-headed on this List." — Gene Murtha.
