|
ward silent except for a sigh - night sister sees dawn at the window |
walking on the moor one sees heather the other sky |
|
no bloodstains left on medieval castle wall - smear of tourist's choc-ice |
still in its frame that smile her last |
|
tense and watchful in corner of field pissing in the wind |
her anxious look trying to recall an old memory |
| Maurice Tasnier, a newspaper sub-editor turned social worker, is now retired and lives in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, UK. A member of CND, Voluntary Euthanasia Society, British Haiku Society, blues fan, devoted pub-goer, part time voluntary worker for the Alzheimer's Disease Society, he is a full-time grandad. In the 50s to the 70s his poems appeared in such magazines as John o' London's Weekly, Poetry Review and Outposts in the UK, Canada, USA, New Zealand and Belgium. Since 1997 he has mainly written haiku. |
